The role of trusted referral pathways
Launch library · evergreen read

Campaign work can sometimes surface issues, financial stress, mental health strain, or personal safety concerns, that sit beyond what a campaign itself is equipped to address on its own, and having a clear, trusted pathway to relevant professional services matters greatly in those difficult moments, since improvising a response under pressure rarely serves anyone particularly well.
Building this pathway before it is urgently needed, rather than scrambling to find one in a crisis, means campaign leaders can respond calmly and appropriately when someone discloses a difficulty that genuinely needs support beyond what the campaign community can reasonably offer on its own, however caring and well intentioned that community genuinely is.
A good referral pathway is specific rather than vague, naming an actual service or contact point rather than a general suggestion to seek help, since specificity makes it far more likely that someone in a difficult moment will actually follow through and get the support they genuinely need.
